I've been working on various open source projects for a long time. I used to work on SMS Backup+ on Android, which also relied on donations. I'm now mostly working on the free iOS dictionary app motî, which uses data from the English Wiktionary (to which I'm also a contributor with ~250K edits over the past 10 years).

The app is entirely free, and I'm not planning to monetize it in any form. Still, Apple charges a yearly developer fee, needed to maintain the app in its store; over the years, these fees have added up. It'd be nice if donations could at least cover the costs of making the app available.
